There is "Nothing new under the sun".
When my husband Richard was a little boy, his family was stationed in Libya with Mobile Oil/Pipeline.
During this time, Gaddafi (Mu'ammar Al-Qadhdhāfī, Qadaffi, Kadaifi...the press can't make up it's mind) overthrew King Idris in a takeover coup. Richard and his mother were evacuated out of the country on a helicopter to London...but not before watching a man being burned upside down in his overturned Fiat.
Man against neighbor, because neither knew the God of all creation. Bully against the weaker. No respect of boundaries, differences, human rights or freedom.
What is happening around the world is nothing new.
Evil has entered the heart of greedy men. Pride has said to Evil hearts...kill, steal, destroy.
This (war by man I shall not name) is not about oil or religion or territory.
This invasion is about the rebellious nature of a heart without God. The heart who wants to be his own god.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again: there is nothing new under the sun.
Oh Sovereign Lord,
Please...strengthen those being overrun by the evil desires of a man of lawlessness.
Please give courage and protection to those who would defend evil.
Please forgives us for becoming a nation that won't step up to do what is best, wise, safe...out of the same evil spirit that is now prominent in our country.
Thy will be done...in Ukraine, around the world, and in our own hearts.
