Entertainment News AMAs

Well, after getting just a couple glimpses of the dress (or lack thereof) of some of the entertainers at the American Music Awards...I guess I didn't miss watching them so much after all!

Why is it so hard for women to understand how precious they are to God and they should value themselves enough not to go all Victoria's Secret on us at an important event in their industry. Your voices are the gift...not your immodest dress.
Mandisa...now she's a truly beautiful woman with talent.

The Perfect Woman
Proverbs 31:10ff is not just a good place to find how to be a virtuous wife– it’s also to see what is valuable as far as a person. In this passage you will find nothing of how she looks, smells, or how much skin she shows. Instead you’ll find things like:

She is trustworthy – doing her husband good and not evil all his days.
She provides for her family - in the fields, with the merchants, from afar off, buying land, selling goods, makes clothing.
She works hard – she is girded with strength, she works into the night.
She is merciful – She helps the poor and needy.
And here is the important one. Her clothing is strength and honor because of her character. Yes, she makes herself clothing that is of silk and purple, fine thing for the times, but she is known for much more than her clothing. You could say that she defines the clothing, the clothing does not define her.

Surrounded By the Warmth of Truth

My youngest was home from school with a bug...well not a spider or an ant...a flu like bug! Winter tried to sneak in early and my son was trying to get warm from waking up in a one hundred year old drafty house. Just as he was waking, the dryer buzzed. I grabbed a "hot out of the dryer" hooded sweatshirt and ran upstairs with it warming my hands like mittens along the way. As I reached his room I said, "Close your eyes and lift your hands!" and without questioning me he did just that! I slipped the warm sweat shirt over his little head and down his raised arms. A precious sigh of comfort and gratitude filled the room. When his head popped out of the hood opening like a jack-in-the-box, the most grateful face was there to smile at me.

Do we allow God to do this for us? Do we trust God enough to close our eyes, lift our hands in praise to Him for the warmth of His love and His timely provision?

You and I must remember, the creator of the universe knows when we have a "bug" or a need. He knows when we are struggling. He sees through a Father's eyes when His children are lonely or sad. I can picture Him running to me to warm me with His perfect love. Can You?

Here's hoping today you will feel the warmth as you are surrounded by the truth that Christ Died for you, God loves you, and if you accept these truths into your heart...HE is with you.
The Bible says, "If you confess with you mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you Will be saved." Don't you think if He thought you were worth dying for He would want to hear from you now and again? Close your eyes and lift your hands friends...warmth is on the way!
Hot cocoa anyone?

Because They Defend Our Freedom...

by Kathy Lonsinger

Because they defend our freedom...they will not be home to have mom's homemade pie for Thanksgiving.

They will not hold their newborn baby today.
They will not kiss their husband or wife goodnight tonight, and for some...ever again.
They will not forget you are their reason to be away for now.
They will not forget...Don't forget them.
Because They Defend Your Freedom and the rights they believe those not yet free...should have...
We HONOR Them today.

Romans 8:37

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who lived us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I pray the God of the Bible will bless you and keep you. May God bring you home safely.
In Jesus Name I pray.

Favor...Prayer

‎"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to emplore His protection and favor."~George Washington~

Let's be sure to keep praying for our Nation and our elected public servants.

Father,
We are thankful for your protection and favor. We acknowledge you are the creator and that your will shall be done, whether we cooperate or not. You have shown favor to the Nations that trusted in you. So please, help us to become once again a Nation that seeks your will. Grant wisdom to those in office as they begin or, for some, continue in public service. Help us to pray for those in office whether we agree or disagree with them.
It is in the name of Jesus we ask,
AMEN

1 Timothy 2

1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

THESE ARE THEY!

WOW! THIS IS PROMISED! WE MUST STAND WITH THE WORD OF GOD AND THAT MEANS WE MUST STAND WITH ISRAEL!

PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
PSALM 122

PRAISE HIM!

ASK

Since I have run across the topic of prayer this week several times in various forms I thought I might consider...
How's my prayer life?
~Do I seek God's will through prayer?
~Do I give up easily or too soon?
~Do I believe God will answer me?
~Do my requests line up with the will of God for my life?

Adrian Rogers once said the problem in our prayer life is not "unanswered prayer"...but "unoffered prayer".

Do I " A S K " ? Do YOU?

~A ask
~S seek
~K knock

Luke 11:9 (New International Version)
9"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

"The great point is to never give up until the answer comes.
The great fault of the children of God is, they do not continue in prayer...they do not persevere.
If they desire anything for God's glory, they should pray until they get it."
