As Christians...we pray for each other and I am so thankful for that.
My family has gone through a weird year of health issues and we have drawn comfort from the prayers of other believers. It caused me to remember that long before the CROSS OF CHRIST, Solomon asked the Lord to care for those of us who would turn to GOD. What an awesome gift to receive; the prayers of another who loves GOD!
Did Solomon pray for you? ARE YOU A TEMPLE?
At the dedication of the temple (2 Chronicles 6 and 7) Solomon prayed for YOU!!! If you are a believer in Christ Jesus...SOLOMON PRAYED FOR YOU!
How cool is that? If you don't think He did read the scripture found in
2 Chronicles 6:32
"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple, 33 then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.
34 "When your people go to war against their enemies, wherever you send them, and when they pray to you toward this city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name, 35 then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
36 "When they sin against you—for there is no one who does not sin—and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to a land far away or near; 37 and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly'; 38 and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their fathers, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name; 39 then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their pleas, and uphold their cause. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you.
40 "Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. "
So...Are you a Foreigner? A Gentile? Not born of original Jewish heritage but a follower of Jesus Christ? He prayed first for the Nation of Israel before verse 32 then for the Gentiles that would follow the God of Abraham. Since the Cross of Christ canceled the need for temple worship or sacrifice, where is God's dwelling place? He no longer dwells over the Mercy Seat described in the Old Testament.The bible tells us you now have, as a believer in Christ, the Holy Spirit living and dwelling in YOU! You are the TEMPLE.
1 Corinthians 6:19 tells us you are;
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
So...do you offer the prayers mentioned above IN THIS PLACE? THE TEMPLE IS YOU. If you are a Christian YOU are the dwelling place (TEMPLE) of the Spirit of the Lord...and can offer prayers and pleas, and ask for forgiveness and protection and healing. Or...are you "being held captive" by sin?
Repentance is the key that opens the prison door. To enter into His presence (according to the above scripture) you must turn back to God with all your heart and soul. Right there in the Land of your captivity, while you were still a sinner, Christ died for you. He did not say clean up your act first. He loves you right were you are.
Have you confessed (v.37) "you have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly"? Then did you turn (repent) from those actions and trust Christ. If yes, You are THE TEMPLE. And I ask that God be attentive to the prayers you offer to Him.
IF YOU ARE NOT A CHILD OF THE LIVING GOD- I want to encourage you to understand Christ died for you. He waits for you to accept His offer to live as a child of the King. You accept the gift of eternal life by confessing your sins and your need for a savior. Put your faith in Him as Lord and Savior of your life. Just believe He is who He said He was in the Bible and ask Him to come into your life and forgive you of your sin...You will be Saved! Nothing you have ever done is beyond His ability to forgive you and save you. It is like opening a gift card at Christmas that someone else purchased for you. This card says:
"GIFT OF LIFE...Love, JESUS!"
Value= Eternal Life.
PRICELESS...NO LIMIT!
If you choose LIFE,then find a church that teaches truth from the Bible. Start reading the Bible which is God's love letter addressed to you. Read and obey what you read.
Please Trust HIM! Your LIFE depends on it.
He loves you.
Thanks for your prayers,
Know that you are in mine.
I may not know your name...Our Father does! I ask HIM today to "uphold your cause"...whatever it may be;
Health
Finances
Relationships
Employment
Unemployment
Trust
Fear
Addiction
Pain
Pride
Envy
Discouragement
Disappointment
Whatever hurts right now...what ever is praiseworthy;
He knows what concerns you.
Just Thinkin' (And Praying)
